Set up in 2005, in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Kashmir, Human Aid Focus (HAF) is an independent, UK registered non-governmental organisation (UK Charity Commission registration number 1108753).
We work in close partnership with our sister organisation, Maqsood Welfare Foundation (MWF), in remote and neglected areas of Azad Jammu Kashmir, with a special focus on District Bagh. MWF is registered under Pakistan Societies Act No. 1860/21 registration no. 378.
During the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir, we provided effective emergency relief by working closely with communities; building strong relationships and helping them recover quickly and rebuild their lives. Read more about our work here.
Since then, in addition to providing continuous emergency relief, we are working closely with local communities to promote sustainable development irrespective of race, religious beliefs, gender, class or political opinions.
‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime’
Our mission is to tackle poverty by creating long-term and sustainable solutions by empowering people to change their lives for the better.
‘Wars against nations are fought to change maps; wars against poverty are fought to map change’
Our vision is a world of equality, where everyone is able to achieve his or her full potential without bias. This can only be accomplished by tackling inequality that exists in today’s society, which is also one of the root causes of poverty.
Human Aid focus aims to tackle poverty by educating and empowering communities and establish their rights in the society.
